Acclimatization According to the Berlin Model ...
... arriving comfortably and lovingly
The acclimatization of your child at the Lorenzini Art Daycare Center is carried out gently and individually according to the proven Berlin model. This approach allows your child to adjust to the new environment and caregivers step by step.
Phase 1: Getting to Know and Building Trust
In the first days, a parent accompanies the child to the daycare for about an hour. This presence creates trust and security while our team of educators gets to know the child’s needs and interests.
Phase 2: Initial Separations
After the initial three days, we begin with short separation phases, where the parent leaves the room but remains nearby. The duration of these separations is gradually extended based on the child’s reactions and comfort.
Phase 3: Extending Care Time
Once the child feels secure and comfortable, we gradually extend the care time and f urther reduce the parent’s presence. We continuously observe and respond to the child’s signals and needs.
Phase 4: Stabilization
By the end of the acclimatization period, the child spends the entire daycare day at the center. The parent remains on standby until the child is fully settled and comfortable in the new environment.
Through this gentle and child-friendly approach according to the Berlin model, we create a stable foundation for a trusting and joyful daycare experience. Your child is introduced to the new situation with care and love, allowing them to adapt at their own pace.
Learn more!Did you know...
-
... that it can be beneficial for children to attend a daycare or childcare service from as early as their first birthday? At this age, children start engaging more with their surroundings and begin to explore their environment in a curious manner.
-
... that children benefit from starting daycare early? Being in a group with children from diverse social backgrounds promotes healthy development. In the daycare environment, children quickly learn to be part of a community, understand the importance of waiting and patience - an essential social skill for life. Additionally, children who attend daycare tend to have more self-confidence compared to those who are cared for at home.
-
... that learning can happen simply by observing and watching other children play?
-
... that at home, children are often "in the background"? They may accompany a parent when they go shopping, cook, work, or do other activities, but the amount of time spent solely focused on the child is relatively short. In contrast, a daycare day is filled with experiences like playing, singing, and crafting - activities specifically designed for children, which parents at home might not be able to provide.
As you can see, we think carefully about how best to support your child’s development. You can find more details in our educational concept. 😉
